Lake Como Crowdfunding Event is for entrepreneurs and business angels, researchers and students also to participate in the discussion and the workshops. Those who already have some innovative ideas and would like to transform them into businesses are most welcome to participate in the Como Event Workshop, where they will have a unique opportunity to share their ideas with the audience and to get a feedback of well-known experts in crowdfunding from USA and Western-Europe. Innovation is a crucial element of sustainable growth and societal well-being. Although innovation cannot cure the most immediate financial difficulties, however, crisis might stimulate new entrepreneurial ventures and growth areas. According to INSEAD report 2012, past crises in the 1990s generated new strings of innovative companies and may have put entire nations—such as Finland and the Republic of Korea—on a new growth path. Countries that continue to support and invest in innovation despite economically worsening conditions are gaining the benefits of their efforts at some point. Innovative ideas are not enough; they need to be brought to society. Entrepreneurs are the necessary link, bringing ideas to the market and society (Sandgren, 2012). What motivates and what are the main drivers of entrepreneurs, taking into account the impact of social, culture and economic conditions in different contexts- this is one of the major issues within the discussion on how to stimulate innovation growth. Financing is an important issue in this discussion, especially financing on the earlier stages of entrepreneurial activities, which is problematic in many countries. Crowdfunding as an alternative form of financial support of innovation has emerged recently in USA and some parts of Europe. Crowdfunding has come a long way in a short period of time. According to recent data crowdfunding has raised more than $3 billion (The Soho Loft, 2012) for transforming many people's dreams into reality. Crowdfunding can be seen as a democratic way of supporting entrepreneurs/innovators, as it allows all of us in society, disregarding how much money we posses, to act as empowered citizens and choose to support innovations which appeal to our values and ideas. In this connection, green innovations and innovation for a sustainable future will play more and more significant role in our way of living and acting. Como Crowdfunding Event invites all interested in the above mentioned issues of innovation and its financing, such as entrepreneurs and business angels, researchers and students to participate in the discussion and the workshops. Those who already have some innovative ideas and would like to transform them into businesses are most welcome to participate in the Como Event Workshop, where they will have a unique opportunity to share their ideas with the audience and to get a feedback of well-known experts in crowdfunding from USA and Western-Europe. |
